Yesterday, at the Microsoft Windows 10 Devices event Microsoft unveiled the new ultrathin Surface Book laptop. This high performance laptop will contain a 6th Generate Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and have up to to 12 hours of battery life. The Surface Book also has a 267 dpi 13.5" display, which has the ability to fully detach from the keyboard to be used as a tablet. For those who want more video processing power, the Surface Book can also be upgraded with a discrete GPU. The Surface Book starts at $1,499 with preorders starting October 7th and for sale on October 26th.
For those who love the Surface Pro, but wanted a bigger screen and the typing capabilities of a laptop, the Surface Book looks to be exactly what you want. Microsoft is touting that ounce for ounce it is the "faster 13" laptop ever made". They further go onto say that by adding the discrete GPU and 2 extra processors it fundamentally makes the Surface Book two times faster than the Macbook Pro.
Overall, this device looks amazing!

This may be what puts me in the market for a new laptop. The only thing that would hold me back is the small screen size. I prefer laptops with a larger screen.
