I am trying to clone my HDD C: drive over to a 1 TB Fanxiang S101 SSD drive.

I tried it using Macrium Reflect.

After cloning it, I booted it up & after the BIOS screen it was just a black screen with a white blinking prompt...

I am not techie, just know some things, & can follow good directions...

I told my brother in law, who is a Techie about it in a message to him, & he told me this,,,

"It probably didn’t copy the boot loader properly Windows 10 Runs in a secure mode called UEFI Download the Hirens Boot Disk iso and burn it to a bootable flash drive 8 gig or bigger it has multiple programs on it I generally use Clone Disk or a manufacturer specific program"

I have now cloned C: drive using Clonedisk, Disk to Disk method.

I haven't tried it yet, came here to post this before I try it, as it is done cloning now.

This is my Mobo manual, if it might help resolve my issues...

https://www.biostar-usa.com/upload/Manual/TA970_140317.pdf

All I want to do is simply clone my C: drive to the new 1TB SSD drive.

I had no idea it would be this troublesome, lol

Thank you for any help anyone could give me, it would be greatly appreciated...

Sincerely,
Yakster333

Update...

Clonedisk did the same thing...

Just a black screen with a white blinking prompt...

Sigh...

Thanks...

Now I have a new drive, D: drive, seen in screenshot.

If I click it, it opens & shows what I assume to be my Windows files...

I am also sharing a screenshot of what it looks like in disk management atm...

Thanks...

That's funny, I just read something about that an hour or so ago, it was a very old article.

Do you happen to have a link that can walk me through that process?

Thanks...
Sincerely,
Yakster333

Just a heads-up....Amazon users' reviews posts a lot of complaints about this drive dying after a few months. I strongly suggest that you keep weekly image backups of your system in case you also become a victim.

If there are no responses to my post for 3 days I remove it from my answer list. If you wish to continue the thread after 3 days please PM me.

Duly noted...

It like everything else in the world of technology, & beyond, & everything else that is manufactured for that matter all have failed products/units, some more than others...

I go by the ratings, the odds, common sense, & logic...

This is how they rate it there...

I can live with this, & keep my OS always backed up, wife & I are poor, disabled, and on a very tight FIXED income, PRICE MATTERS...

I probably will never return to this Forum again, take a look at the # of TOTAL eyeballs that have laid eyes on my post seeking help...

A website that claims to HELP, & yet NO ONE HARDLY HELPED RESOLVE MY ISSUE AT ALL, just looked & moved on...

Bleeping was a great help in past years for me, it is just NON EXISTENT for me here any longer...

Where as I post the same post basically on another Tech Forum that helps folks with PC problems, and I had plenty of help with this problem there...

I appreciate the advice, I will keep it in mind, I already read up on Amazon about it before I bought it...

Thanks again...

Sincerely,
Yakster333

I do appreciate your effort Porthos

I never got a chance to read through all that as my other post on this problem elsewhere was getting alot of replies, so I stuck with them over there for the remainder of this fix...

I do thank you for your help...

Sincerely,
Yakster333

@yakster333

I would have given more precise instructions but do not like the way you have to post images here.

Where did you end up finding more assistance? What forum?

"but do not like the way you have to post images here."

What, me putting up screenshots of the issues I had, or the Amazon Review of the SSD drive I bought?

Putting up photos/screenshots is an option when posting here, if I broke some kind of sacred rule, I apologize...

You offered advice of what you do, you never clone, you do the image...

I then asked if you happened to have a link, you gave me one, & after me just now going & looking it over in more detail, I noticed I had already looked at that link as I had bookmarked it in my browser in the past few days, along with several other types of tutorials on the entire subject...

You did try & help...

I said Thank You for that also...

I am pretty sure I was polite & courteous throughout my entire thread, AS ALWAYS...

Then a kind person gave me their advice/info on my SSD, then I addressed that very kindly...

I am not upset at you for any reason, you tried to help...

I thank/ed you for that...

I am done here in this thread...

Take care...

Sincerely,
Yakster333

You totally misunderstand my comment.

I meant the hoops I would have to go through to post all the instructions and pictures I would have to post to explain the backup and restore process...

It's all good man, no worries, my misunderstanding, my bad...

I knew how to clone it, I had cloned it, it was just messed up...

Take care...
