Trend Micro RootkitBuster is a program that will scan your computer for Rootkits.  This scanner will scan for rootkits that are using the latest technology including Master Boot Record (MBR) infections.

If a Rootkit is found while scanning with RootkitBuster, the program will give you the option to remove the infection.  When you do so, a folder called TMRBLog will be created in the same folder that you ran RootkitBuster from.  This folder will contain a variety of logs, including backups of any Master Boot Records that it may have cleaned.

Like other programs in this category, RootkitBuster was able to find and remove some traces of the TDSS Rootkit, but was not able to remove all of it. Therefore, it is always wise to use other Rootkit Scanners such as TDSSKiller in conjunction with an anti-virus program to make sure that you were able to find and remove all of the infection.
