I love looking back over the decades of development from the crude vacuum tubes to the billion element semiconductors and marvel at how we ever got this far. The primitive methods of looking at information, collecting information and analyzing it all. Yes there were some pretty terrible platforms and languages, un-serviceable hardware and un-adaptable software. One didn't fit the old stuff and the new stuff didn't support any of the older hardware or software. The cycle begins and has no end.
