So, I'm studying for my Net+ and A+ certifications. I was reading about OLE DB Providers and SQL Servers. Out of curiosity I decided to check and see if any providers were present on my system via powershell, and apparently there are. Do these providers come installed with Windows 10 Home? I'm not using SQL Server, Oracle, etc. so what purpose do they serve on my machine? I only use my computer to game and browse the internet. Apologies for the noobish question. Thanks.

I was reading about OLE DB Providers and SQL Servers..............................Do these providers come installed with Windows 10 Home?...............................so what purpose do they serve on my machine?

What you're seeing in your PowerShell output is normal.

OLE DB Providers do come installed with the Home versions of Windows and they provide a vital service. When an application needs to access a data source, they service the request then serve the requested data to the application in a format it can understand.

SQL Server does not come pre-installed with Windows. It can be installed in the Home editions but it wouldn't be much use because Windows Home editions can't connect to a Windows domain.
