Windows 10 Pro Insider, Dev channel, Build 21376.1

Evaluation copy. Expires 31/10/2021.

Today's date is 08/05/2021, more than 5 months before it expires.

So yesterday Windows updated yesterday and this morning after booting I noticed a new icon in the notification bar, see attachment named "update-icon.png".

Mouseover text reads: "Your version of Windows 10 has reached end of service. Click to download a newer version of Windows 10 to stay supported".

Clicking the icon opens the Windows Update panel.

The panel indicate that Windows is up to date, but clicking "Check for updates" still shows that Windows is up to date. See screenshot named "windows update error.png"

There are no error messages or error numbers.

Running Troubleshooter (three times, so far) indicates that the troubleshooter has detected and fixed problems but shows the yellow triangle and exclamation point icon (troubleshooter.png).

Running DISM CheckHealth and ScanHealth shows no errors.

I haven't checked SFC yet, but I doubt it's going to yield any further insight. I'll update after I run it.

I'd love to know if anyone else has anything similar. (And if you have a solution, even better!)

Hi, I would think you would need to ask them since your build was just released : https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/04/29/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-21370/ and report the problem

That is normal. Microsoft is working on it.

Thanks mate. I've azctually been in touch with support, but unfortunately it didn't resolve the problem. I've got a link to restart the chat session, which I'll do later today, when I've got a bit more time.

Since I posted the link that indicated that this was a very common issue, why would you contact support? I already indicated that Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working on it.

I'd already contacted them before you posted the solution.

Jeez, chill, dude.

What do you call superChilled Bennett?  RockyRoad of course!  :)

Seriously, I cannot remember ever getting a popup like that concerning my Windows 7 Professional.  Well, I have had WU disabled.

Roland, The OP is a Windows Insider and he is running an Insider's Build. That particular build had a lot of issues and we have already moved on to a newer build.
