I've been in the Insider Program since 2015. I have to say that the supposed major update to Windows 10 called 21H2 is really somewhat boring so far. Dramatic, it isn't. In some places, fluid design is added to make great effects. In others, it is excluded entirely such as with Disk Management. It seems to have been coded by rookies, reviewed by Junior managers and just slammed through and accepted. If this is what we can expect from 21H2, I'm preparing myself to be underwhelmed.

Indeed. This update has been advertised as very, VERY minor. The whole update takes less that 5 minutes and consists of just a few lines of code. Microsoft has repeatedly indicated that this minor update is the beginning of a new "trend," but they have not specified what trend they are going for. Minimalism seems to be the defining factor of the new trend, judging by the last few updates.

As per Microsoft, "As with Windows 10, versions 2004 and 20H2, version 21H1 also shares a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. New features are included in monthly quality updates for version 2004 in an inactive and dormant state. These new 21H1 features remain dormant until they are turned on through the “enablement package,” a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that activates the Windows 10, version 21H1 features." That is why these new feature updates can be done in 5 minutes or less on a modern computer.

Yes microsoft has already stated that 21H1 is not going to be a big update with packed features. But the 21H2 will be if I remember correctly. I am not excited about this apart from bugs are getting fixed apparently.... wonder what new ones will come.

Laptop specs: Kali Purple, Acer Aspire E1-531, 8gb ram and the rest is the standard stuff (with extra that I am not going into).

I am talking about 21H2, Sun Valley, not 21H1. I reached my conclusion after seeing all but a few features. 21H1 is NOTHING at all but positioning placeholders for future changes. There is one 21H2 feature update that I am potentially excited about. But Microsoft is apparently waiting for their next national demo in the Summer. The change I am interested in is what plan they have for the Start Menu. It sounds interesting.
