Hi, today, I opened microsoft store to install a new app. But for some reason, it didn't open. I restarted my computer a few times but it still didn't work, and when I ran wsreset.exe, it came up with this error: ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches The app didn't start. Help appreciated, thank you!

Hi, Welcome to BC.

Seems is not that easy to fix: wsreset.exe, it came up with this error: ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches

https://www.partitionwizard.com/clone-disk/ms-windows-store-purgecaches.html

As per the above am not sure this will work or not but should try this first if have not already done so : from another DOS Command Prompt from START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | select "Run as Administrator" then Copy/Paste --> : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command then Enter  if it finds problems then reboot. (Completed Successfully : means reboot)
then
after reboot run from another CMD Admin Prompt SFC /SCANNOW and reboot if it fixes anything.

Yep, I have done those two, but still same problem. I have ran the tweaking.com windows repair but the error keeps happening. Here is some more background information: I recently just resetted my computer (everything) and after I did Microsoft Store worked. I uninstalled the unneccesary apps with Revo Uninstaller (e.g, tips, phone link, etc). Then after that when I opened it, it didn't work.

So what does doing that tell ya ??

You do not remove Windows Apps with Revo.  You Uninstall them with Powershell.   Unlimited power is a bad thing at times.

When done they are no longer active but still remain on the system but hidden until run Powershell again.  https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/remove_windows_108_and_8_1_built_in_apps_using_powershell.html

Is the Store Icon still there and have you tried Repair in Apps ?

If the normal method to fix store issues fails, I have only been able to fix it with a reinstall of Windows. SFC or even a repair install never worked.

Yup, seems like b----red the thing up.

There are other results for the topic in searching but a lot does not seem to be the same. Cure as well.

Could try them : Search Term : Windows 11 Microsoft Store not opening error: ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Windows+11+Microsoft+Store+not+opening+error%3A+ms-windows-store%3APurgeCaches

Do to the nature of the Beast Porthos would probably be correct on the fix but who knows.  So there is variations in the above to try.

The Install repair upgrade is worth a shot before having to succumb to drastic measures.

https://www.elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-windows-11-with-an-in-place-upgrade.418/

Though..nothing wrong with a reinstall : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-do-clean-install-windows-11

NOTE : Very vanilla info as no idea what the system make/model is o point you to stuff. :=}

Once Windows has been installed, you install the necessary drivers for the MB from the Support Page Chipset always done first, SATA, Video, Intel or / and followed by the lesser drivers with lots of rebooting.  Then other hardware and then leave well alone, drivers should not be allowed to auto update from Microsoft Update, especially Video Drivers.  Should never update any driver/s unless the new drivers are intended to resolve a specific issue that you are having, installing new drivers unnecessarily can actually cause you the very issues that any new drivers are intended to resolve and uninstalling the new drivers may not resolve the problem/s that installing the new drivers has caused.

Let us know how you are making out.

Thank you everyone for helping out. I have just done a reset again, and it worked! I uninstalled all the apps I don't need with the default app uninstaller and powershell. Thanks!
