I have no clue where I'm supposed to put this topic at?  But I need help, I have included a picture showing what is going on, Fishing Planet game people replied back and gave me some directions to follow and I don't know how to do any of this.

My computers is windows 8.1 desktop PC and antivirus is windows defender

They said: Please make sure to turn off your antivirus first thing and add folder for Fishing Planet in antivirus exceptions.

I don't even know how to turn the thing off, I don't see a button that says off and I don't see a button that says add exceptions either.

They said: Please try to make a clear game start, uninstall the game from the library, delete the game folder, and make a registry cleaning

I don't know how to do that either, and I don't know what a registry cleaning even is

They said: Then load the game again and add the game and game folder in the antivirus and firewall exception list; start the game from the library directly, not from a shortcut.

I don't know how to add a game folder to the  antivirus and windows firewall exception list.

I don't know how to do any of this, I'm completely stuck

I presume it is no help at all to say 'it should just install' ?

I see it is 'copyright 2015' so it was probably written with Win 10 in mind but it should still run on 8.1. One problem would be that you have a 32 bit version of 8.1 and the game is written for 64 bit in which case it just will not run at all as you cannot run 64 bit software on a 32 bit system, but you can check this for yourself.

Also it is available from three sources - a direct stand-alone download, as a game running on Steam, and as a download from the Google app store. Where have you been trying to download it from ?  I would suggest that you completely remove it from your computer, if necessary use something like the Revo uninstaller to remove all traces of it then download it again and try again just to run the installer. Revo is available as a free download from BC and, from experience, works very well but just stick to using its default settings. It is not recommended that you 'clean the registry' as has been suggested, this is likely to create more problems than it cures.

Occasionally it is necessary to disable your A/V while installing software. You can do this through <Settings > Update and Security > Windows Defender>. You can always re-enable it afterwards, the simplest way being to do a re-start. If you still have problems, post back.

Tight lines !
