Howdy folks!  I just picked up a Dell Axim X30 PDA, it's running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.  I've tried plugging it into my Windows 10 machine, as well as my Dell Inspiron 9200 with XP and neither recognizes it.  Can someone tell me what I can I do to get my machines to see it, or where I can find the drivers to do so?

Thanks in advance!

OK, I got both of them to see it, but, I can't update the driver when it asks me to, Windows is unable to update this driver... It shows up as an unknown USB-device.

ActiveSync 4.5

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=15

"Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile-powered devices. ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier."

It will also work with XP SP3, because that's what I have on my laptop...

When I put a CF-card in, it's not being recognized.  I know the card is good because both my Windows-10 and XP machines see it...

Please advise,

I have an Axim X3i device at home somewhere (circa 2003ish)

It's been a while since I've used it, but I suspect Windows Mobile only handles FAT32 (maybe NTFS?) file systems.  If your FS is formatted with one of the newer file systems (e.g. exFAT), it likely wouldn't be recognized on the Axim device.

My CF's are formatted to FAT32 already, it just doesn't want to see them.  When I go to storage and click on the CF-icon, I only get the option of built-in storage.  My cards are only 4GB (which is the max): it won't even detect the 1GB it came with that had files that the previous owner had used.

Please advise

Sorry, I don't understand, can you explain what you mean a little better?

Head to https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php and get xfce 32 bit. Then head to https://www.ventoy.net and create a bootable usb and copy the xfce linux iso to the usb. Boot to it and try accessing your phone. If computer won't boot from usb create a DVD then boot to it.
