MSI display after the enter Bios (press del etc), displays a "HDMI no signal" message and then goes black.

My graphics card is AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.

I removed the motherboard battery and rest bios and reset CLRTC bios, which had worked in the past when I first built the PC and was having issues with the graphics driver.

So I booted into safe mode with networking - AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT shows up in device manager instead of the Microsoft one.

I have tried linking the PC to a normal TV via HDMI and it works perfectly.

It just doesn't work with the monitor I have been previously using before.

Build

  • i3 - 12100F
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • 2 X 8GB RAM 3200 MHz
  • 650W be Quiet! SPower 11
  • Asus Prime H610M-A D4 Micro ATX LGA 1700 MB

Thanks in advance.

Please re-explain this:

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT shows up in device manager instead of the Microsoft one

Device Manager is part of Windows; your video card should show up in Device Manager under "Display Adapters".  I don't know what you mean by "instead of the Microsoft one". One what?

Has your card been working properly up to this point, or is this a new card you installed?

If it has been working properly up to this point, have you made any changes in system settings or installed a new program, and then you had problems? It's very strange that a card would just stop working suddenly.

Hi, Generally no one uses : CLRTC bios.  It is called the CMOS. (pronounced CeeeMoss )

While you were in BIOS you made sure your BIOS was running the most current BIOS Update which is : Version 3206   Date :  2024/04/02 and Updated it.

So when you did a Clean Install of Windows with UEFI Support : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-create-windows-10-usb-bootable-media-uefi-support    /11

of the UNKOWN OS.  You did below so Device Manager info was installed properly.

You disconnected from the internet and installed your previously downloaded  Drivers (FOR UNKNOW OS) from your Motherboard Support Page :

https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-h610m-a-d4/helpdesk_download?model2Name=PRIME-H610M-A-D4

and you installed the Chipset 1st with a reboot when finished followed by your SATA then Video  followed by the lesser drivers with lots of reboots.

Is that Correct ???

You also turned off in BIOS ASUS Fast Boot for the same reasons as below :

Turn off MS Fast Start : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-windows-10-fast-startup /11 and WHY !!!

or : https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-enable-or-disable-fast-startup-on-windows-11

And when you bought the rest of your parts you made sure that the UNKNOWN RAM Make.model/speed ) was compatible with your i3 - 12100F chip and would be lower than these : Up to DDR5 4800 MT/s  or Up to DDR4 3200 MT/s so that when you enabled XMP you were compatible. to the chip as per the spec sheet :

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/132223/intel-core-i312100f-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-30-ghz/specifications.html

As well the Ram make and version where on your Motherboard Support Page under CPU / MEMORY SUPPORT and more such as other devices :

https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-h610m-a-d4/helpdesk_qvl_cpu?model2Name=PRIME-H610M-A-D4

When having Video Problems please use DDU to remove the drivers : https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

then install your already downloaded Video Drivers from here : https://www.techspot.com/drivers/manufacturer/amd/ as relable and provide information about the drivers.

You stop Windows (UNKNOWN VERSION) from installing Windows Video Drivers as they cause problems :

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-automatic-driver-updates-windows-10  (Note may have to revere to get drivers in at a later time)

& / or : https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/146562-prevent-windows-update-updating-specific-device-driver.html

&

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-roll-back-device-driver-windows-10 /11

Provide Monitor info from the back of it please : make/model and OS Version.     It could be the cables you are using.  More info needed.

No HDMI in BIOS would not be a Windows problem as that happens before Windows even loads. I would update the BIOS as Pkshadow posted. I would also set your monitor back to default.

It looks like the CPU doesn't support built in graphics so you can't use the HDMI port of the MB to test.

The BIOS is the most up-to-date version.

No, I can't

It probably doesn't but do you get a HDMI signal when you enter the BIOS through Windows 10 settings?

Use a different port on the graphic card.

Try a different HDMI cable.

Try using DP instead.

Do not shut down the monitor and leave it on or standby.

Also does a Reset or Restart fix the black screen after leaving the BIOS?

Ok, below is still relevant but the issue is instead of using your Motherboard Support Drivers or if did you continued on and installed :

IObit\Driver Booster\11.3.0\DriverBooster.exe which you did not mention ==== Problem Solved.====

This would be the cause of your issue.  All Drivers are on Motherboard Support Page for 5yrs.  (1 of my systems is from 2008, it only needs 2 drivers from Driver Boost for Mouse to run properly)

You ruined your install when you used the above.    Driver Up-daters are not recommended here.  To Continue you should do a clean install.

This was laid out to you in Post # 3 as to the proper way to install :

It was not replied to.

Start Over.

Still relevant to a lesser degree,

When having Video Problems please use DDU to remove the drivers : https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

then install your already downloaded Video Drivers from here : https://www.techspot.com/drivers/manufacturer/amd/ as reliable and provide information about the drivers.

You stop Windows (UNKNOWN VERSION) from installing Windows Video Drivers as they cause problems :

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-automatic-driver-updates-windows-10  (Note may have to revere to get drivers in at a later time)

& / or : https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/146562-prevent-windows-update-updating-specific-device-driver.html

&

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-roll-back-device-driver-windows-10 /11

Provide Monitor info from the back of it please : make/model and OS Version.     It could be the cables you are using.  More info needed.

Still relevant :

i3 - 12100F shows off it's Spec Sheet from Downloads Tab : Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows* so does have on-board.

PCI Express Revision   5.0 and 4.0            PCI Express Configurations ‡    Up to 1x16+4, 2x8+4

Got it in the proper slot ?

Already tried DDU twice. Installed drivers from AMD, using AMD Adrenalin.

Monitor info here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PX_V2Xreic5yWP84V8nZlw2uahS_6h3u/view?usp=sharing.

Also tried using a HDMI to display adaptor.

When I connect to TV using HDMI it works.

So when I bought the CPU I knew it didn't have built-in graphics. I download the Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows driver and it doesn't detect any onboard graphics, just like I already said.

Still relevant :

i3 - 12100F shows off it's Spec Sheet from Downloads Tab : Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows* so does have on-board.

Got it in the proper slot ? - ????????? The graphics card is in the same slot as always - there's only place I can't slot it into (The one that it fits into). Also it was working previously.

I turned the PC off one day, didn't do any updates etc and when I went to turn it on the next day I was having issues with the display.

So for months it was working fine until one day it wasn't. This isn't a newly built PC.
