Hey everyone.
So I was having issues with my windows 10 running at 100% disk all the time. So I googled how to fix it. Did everything including running command prompt to check fix errors. Problem is that my lap top screen is broken and I've been using an external screen. Once I hit reboot for it to run the disk error check on start up, it no longer reads the external screen. Leaving me with a blank screen and no way to see what is actually going on. I'm guessing it's in safety mode which is running only basics and no external hardware.
I am not very tech savvy though. Could use some help please.

Any ideas on how to fix this.

I have a bad feeling the only way to fix this is to finally replace the screen.

You could try testing/checking the disk another way, let us know if you want to give it a go.

If you force a shutdown and reboot does the image come back on the TV screen? If it does not can you toggle to it using the appropriate function key.

If the answer is no then you will need to visit a computer technician and seek repairs. If yes then it might be possible to help you with the fix.

Hi everyone, thank you for the replies.

I have been able to solve the problem.

After shutting down the computer a few times, I decided to let it run until it shut its self down, just incase the check disk was running.
It took about 10 hours, but it did infact reboot and start up on it's own. Once again reading the external monitor.
Phew!

Thanks again!
