I have never been able to download pics from my canon elph-180 camera to the lenovo chrome book. it's mostly due to my lack of know how. tried you-tube but I never show the stuff on my screen that they show. it's been a couple years now and I would really like to do this. i'll tackle the printer later but one thing at a time. I'll explain my tech knowledge with this statement, I still use a flip phone.

If the pics are on an SD card you can use a USB SD card adapter if the Chromebook doesn't have a SD card slot.

Page 12 of the manual shows the SD card slot.

Something similar to this for a USB adapter

Of if you have the cable you should be able to transfer the photos to a Windows computer using the included cable and software.

If the SD card has the correct file system, FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS Chrome OS should have given you a pop up in lower right of your display. Can you see your USB adapter if you open the Files app?

Edit: Do you have an available Windows computer?

Your canon elph-180 camera must have come with a USB adapter on one and a C Adapter on the other end.

Pluc C into Camera, Usb into computer.  Computer should see it and double and open, then double click on folder and open Highlight all and copy paste to a folder.

has the USB on the end.nothing on the other end. sd is inserted into usb-c connector on Chromebook. message says removable device detected choice to click is to open files or open settings. I chose files.  when I open files I see the USB drive message. that's where I get a little confused on what to do next.

Chrome OS should have automatically opened a windows showing the files on the SD card. In the left pane of the Files App click USB. Can you see your files?

thanks for the reply JohnC. new day today and I'll try to list step by step of what I see.i inset sd card into adapter then in the USB-c port.message says removable device detected open files or settings. I open files. I see the Google drive under my files on the left side. my files shows play files, pictures, new folder, downloads, camera. Google drive is on the left. that's where I'll stop for now. I probably have not explained this very well but i'll try to go step by step. I have read in the past that pictures and printers on a Chromebook can be a real pita if at all. thanks again

On the left pane do you see your USB adapter? It would help if you could post an image of the Files window.

Edit: USB drive or something similar should be under Google Drive. What is the model number of your Lenovo Chromebook?

If the model number is not on the back use number 3 in the below link to find your model number.

model 81t9  Lenovo chromebook c340-15    ser#mp1zpc6c    USB will show when I go to the files under Google drive. after that i'm not getting anywhere so that's where I'll stop now.  clicking anything in the files gets me nothing probably cause I don't know what to do next.  John I appreciate your patience with me. I know some of my descriptions are somewhat goofy

Your computer has a miniSD card slot on the right side next to your volume button. Does your camera's SD card fit the slot. Also, do you have access to a Windows computer?

Edit: This is how my USB flash drive looks in the left pane on my Chromebook. You should see a USB icon when you attach you SD card adapter.
