Hi All,

In the last few days, for the first time, my Bitdefender Firewall has been sending me notifications about different programs sending a TCP(6) packet. I want to know if this is a problem.

I am using Windows 10. I ask because I've never received notifications like this before and I'm concerned because the programs that are sending packages are not programs that I use but I suppose were installed with Windows 10.  One of them was Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay. Why would a program that I'm not using be sending a packet?

Here is a sample notification:

The application GameBar.exe attempted to connect to the Internet: File path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay_5.822.11281.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\GameBar.exe Destination: 40.119.249.228/0 Protocol: TCP Port: HTTPS Bitdefender Firewall has denied access for this application based on user request. If you want to grant access, click on the button below or go to Firewall - Rules.

Thanks for your help

I don't think it was updated recently.

Do you think someone is trying to access my computer?  I've been getting phishing emails and calls recently. I also got a ransom email on the weekend that I know is a scam.  I've never seen this kind of thing before.

No i don't think so, but you can remove the Xbox app by going to the start menu and right click on it and select Uninstall.

Yes I did that. I got another notification today from OneDriveStandaloneUpdater.exe and from Microsoft.SharePoint.exe.  Why are these programs sending packets and getting flagged by my firewall all of a sudden?

Maybe they were updated and was trying to connect.

OneDrive and the SharePoint can be stopped by preventing their startup.
