Your plan and provider do not matter with what router/gateway you want to use. You just go through Vz's setup for the new to take the place of the old.

Verizon no longer offers a 25/25 plan. When I upgraded I needed a new router and ont. The m1424 wasn't adequate enough.

They will need to contact verizon.
