Beware that many SEO services promising to raise your web profile simply spam your web address to fora like this one.
Sometimes they will actually post it, often it's just a link in a new user profile (no post in the hope of avoiding the moderation).
They will then tell you to do a google and see how many more hits your website name gets now, and happily take your money.
You name/weblink is just appearing in hundreds/thousands of new places on fora, often where nobody can see it anyway, nobody is actually clicking on those spammed weblinks and visiting your site.
I reckon that over 90% of the spam that I remove as a forum moderator is generated by these dodgy SEO companies, and that's after the automatic spam filters have weeded out most of them..
I have talked to a local businessman who had unknowingly employed one of these SEO spam merchants, the owner was mortified when he realised just what he had been paying for. (and he sacked the IT guy who had employed them in the first place).
There are genuine SEO business out there, they are vastly outnumbered by the spammers.

Those are all good points. I would add validating your markup and CSS with the W3C Validator before uploading it to your server::
https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
Mine check as valid XHTML Transitional 1.0 and CSS Level 3 + SVG
Using Google tools involves using your Google Account to log into the Google Search Console, where you'll have to get a sitemap generated and uploaded to your server. Here's where I get mine:
Then Google will want you to upload a document to your server they provide to show them you actually own the site. Then you can request your site be indexed by their search engine from the Console.
Then wait to hear how your site stacks up as far as being Mobile Friendly. They will send you a monthly report on your search engine performance and any new problems their spider has taken a dislike to, this time it crawled it.
Then, if you ever hope to get your site to #1 Google ranking, like mine I recommend you read this article on becoming a Talker. I'm deadly serious:
Because I went on tour for one full year tour shamelessly promoting my site in different online computer related forums every chance I got that had Uncle P.T. Barnum jumping up and down in his grave. That's not always easy to do when you know the audience has heard you do it 20-30 times already.
But that gets your name and link out there and just posting on some sites and having a presence registers highly in Googles algorithms. Watch your console and learn from it.
bleepingcomputer was nice enough to run an article on my site when it was new and that's because somebody saw me out there promoting it:

My site has held #1 Google Ranking in a term related search for 5 years running. Blowing the doors off long established and highly recommended sites like cooltrainer as I passed them by. and consistently outrank the FreeBSD Foundation's own tutorial.
Which may explain a lot...

There are some interesting AI powered tools out there now that will show you how a page should be constructed to rank for whatever query you are targeting. Some of them will even write it for you.

And if you don't know what you're doing you have no clue if they make catastrophic mistakes with the greatest of confidence. Skip the AI hype.
