A responsive website makes sure your website load finely on the different device(mobile, tablets etc) because of most of the user browsing website through mobiles nowadays. If your website is not responsive the site did not rank well in search pages. You need to make your website responsive by using HTML & CSS. And you have only way to make your website responsive. Otherwise, you will lose the user on your website.

It would certainly be a good idea to go with this. Now we are living in a mobile era and lots of traffic comes from different mobile devices.

Google recommends Responsive Web Design because it's the easiest design pattern to implement and maintain.

We need to know a few aspects that why responsive design is the future of the web
  •  It’s more pleasant for your readers.
  •  Responsive designs load faster.
  • It’s futureproof - Because it’s not limited to the screen sizes you designate, your page will load and look great in all devices. So now you know that responsive design is a clever idea with the right set up.
Not only responsive web design boost search engine ratings it also increases the number of users willing to visit your website!

We live in a multi-screen society. Because of this, your site needs to be viewable across as many devices as possible, because you never know what device someone will be using to view your website.

It’s wise to appeal to both desktop and mobile viewers. The number of mobile viewers now outnumbers desktop, and this number will only continue to rise as global smartphone accessibility increases.

Its must-have feature for every website other you will lose you, user, by giving them the bad user experience

Yes, A responsive website is necessary for the good ranking of your website. If users are having trouble loading your site and it doesn't run smoothly, the website ranking will be bad.

responsiveness doesn't mean anything.  it never has.  the only reason it has gained traction is because the big tech CEO's of the world have convinced everyone that it is brand new and great.  it ISN'T.  it's like HD TV.  better quality picture.  so what?  you can still see the screen, can't you?  Semrush is a company running bots all over the web all day long, and they have hundreds, indexed with integer prefixes when they are captured by web app code.

if you have a loyal customer based, responsiveness shouldn't mean anything.  although I suppose it helps.  I once hired an indian woman to write a menu for me with JQuery.  she told me it would be "super responsive".  and when she finished, I look at it and I said: "so what's so different!?"

I seriously question this.  how important IS rank anyway?  if you can go out and convince others face to face that you know what you're doing and they should come to you, why should you care what google thinks?  if you sell ANYTHING, there are 5 million people doing the same thing.  not everyone can get the first RET with google.

crawl14.bl.semrush.com

crawl10.bl.semrush.com

crawl22.bl.semrush.com

crawl24.bl.semrush.com

crawl19.bl.semrush.com

and anything else prefixed by a long.

Yes, but it is not enough, it must load fast, better with https and be clean. The page speed is an important ranking factor today.
