I am moving to a new apartment. There is a cable at the apartment for internet connection. These are the service providers available in the area I'll be moving to: T-Mobile, Spectrum, AT&T, Earthlink, and HughesNet. Which is the best choice for just surfing the internet and watching Youtube videos? Thanks for any replies.

I use ATT and am very happy with them. No surprises when bill time comes customer service is wonderful and prices are fair.

That's funny. I'm in Canada, so I don't have first hand experience. But I've heard nothing but horrible things about AT&T, in terms of tech, customer support and billing/pricing. Can you at least use whatever router you want nowadays if you use them?

Hughesnet is drastically outdated tech and should only be used as an absolute (and I mean absolute) last resort.

Whose infrastructure does T-Mobile use, and what type of tech is it?

Okay. So, can you run whatever router you want, or do they still cripple you by forcing you to use their router (which was awful, from my readings).

ATT. $50 per month, includes wifi modem and no incremental increases like Xfinity. This is still on old phone lines but streams TV well and is fast enough for my purposes. As I write, they are working on installing fiber in my area.
