I have had Spectrum Internet in Alabama and in Tennessee.  I currently use them in Tennessee.  They are the fastest provider of cable Internet in my area.  I have 100MB/10MB and it works great most of the time.  Is there something specific you want to know about the service?

On my end while clicking the link says 30Mb speeds with no Data caps, which is 2x better over what I had when initially signing up with EarthLink (15Mb download, 1Mb upload). :)

The service was furnished by Time Warner, which now is Spectrum, speeds are now over 70Mb download & 7Mb upload & no price increase, other than the modem fee imposed by Time Warner a couple of years back. Bill is now $53 & some change, can't beat the price in this area w/out signing a 2 year contract with AT&T. Which I'd love to have, my sister in law who lives less than a mile away on the other side of the Interstate has U-Verse, it's not offered here due to (for now) the lack of infrastructure. When it comes, may make the leap, they'll likely have a good promo. That is, unless the city rolls out free wireless to everyone. The issue with that is the owners of the utility poles likely won't go along w/out payment, which will require a tax increase to homeowners, so won't be banking on it. However, there are wireless spots on all of the city's poles, water tanks & participating merchants. All I'd then need would be a good VPN. :)

Spectrum also offers as a 1 year promo, $29.99 for cable Internet, Phone & TV, but then goes to regular price afterwards, don't know if it's nationwide or their coverage area, or select markets. I'm sticking with what I have, because it looks like am grandfathered to the price, or the FTC didn't allow all of the acquired brands to fall. Although they do call me all the time, so much I know the number & don't answer. They want to get me off of EarthLink & onto one of their plans, although minimum speed would then be 100Mb/sec.

Overall, other than the marketing calls, am a happy Spectrum customer. :)

I see this topic is old, but for my "two cents".........

I've had Time Warner/Spectrum since 2010.  They are usually the ONLY service around, even though I live in a huge metro area.  The few other companies around have extremely bad ratings, except for Frontier.   I tried changing to Frontier last year because they are half the price of Spectrum with the same benefits and services as I have with Spectrum.  But the guy came out, installed everything, and left without checking anything.  I was without internet for a week, and they told me it would be another week or two before someone would come out to look at it.  I flipped out and contacted Frontier headquarters about that.  Needless to say I went back to Spectrum.

I've never had any problems with Spectrum.  Only 2 service issues since 2010, and they showed up the next day and fixed it fast.  Customer service has always been fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and local.

Only problem is that they go up on their rates $2.00 a year.  I started out paying around $20 a month, now it's up to $70 a month.

If you have the money to spend, it's worth it.   This is way over my budget, but I have no other options at this time, as all the other providers have really, REALLY bad ratings around here.

I had TWC initially (cable/TV/phone package) when I finally broke away from dialup.  When Spectrum took over/merged with TWC, the same business relationship prevailed.

I have no complaints...I actually think that (organizationally) Spectrum is an improvement, although none was needed.

I have lived through eras where these toys we play with so often today...could not even be conceived of...and I enjoy the ease of use and personal gratification provided by organizations such as Spectrum.

Ugh Spectrum. Let's just say there's a reason New York was about to kick them out of the state completely unless they got their crap together. Mind you, they're still not that great. In fact, they're pretty awful to deal with alot of times. However, the service has been slightly improving. But then as soon as you say that it's like forget it because it won't be long before they screw it up again. Seems to be how they operate unfortunately. Part of it is the infrastructure being so outdated in many areas, other parts are business practices. The other issue is that in many markets they subcontract their work.

Plus buried lines wise they're pretty much right under your foot. They're barely buried between the box and the house so even simple ground shifts with season changes and such can interfere with the signal. If an area gets crimped or damaged from pressure, walking over it a ton, driving over it, animals messing with stuff or digging about, etc. without you even knowing it.

In our area in Rochester, NY metro area the ground near us is very Sandy the closer you get to the lake. That makes the buried wires even more susceptible to easy damage.
We have a company called Greenlight here that is fiber that blows Spectrum out of the water. The issue with them though is their service department isn't that great from what I've heard. But they've grown a ton since then so it may be better by now.
