Hi, I'm new to the Forum so here goes.

Could somebody help me with an issue I'm having adding an account to MS Teams? Teams works OK with my MS 365 login email and password but when I try and add another account it tells me it's having trouble signing me in. I've got MS Authenticator on my phone and that all seems to work OK as does the username and password for the account I want to add.

Cheers

JMacG

Hmmmm, could be, although it says on the post that all issues were resolved on 27 Jan.

Is this on a personal computer, with a personal MS 365 account?

Or is this on a work/school computer?

It's on a personal computer, with a personal MS 365 account. Does that matter?

The account I'm trying to add is my work account, which has it's own username and password. When I try and add this account, the login appears to work OK and the MS Authenticator on my mobile works OK. It's only when I get to the end of the 'Add account' process that I get the message that says it has encountered problems signing me in. It then provides an error message.

Possibly.

TBH I'm not sure. I seldom use MS Teams these days and steer clear whenever possible.

Until someone more savvy shows up, perhaps have a look here:

It would also help if you could please provide the EXACT error message and/or (even better) a SCREENSHOT of the error.

Thanks

I could post a screen shot of the error message, but would that be risky? i.e give any personal/security information away about me. I'm just asking because I'm not a computer whizz

I would put aside the issues with the Teams client for now, while Teams issues continue to happen. You can try to sign in via teams.microsoft.com, and use it that way in the meantime. Even that might not work though, given the troubles they seem to be having.

^^^^ What Patrick says ^^^^

(BTW I would never expect or ask you to post personal information in the forum. I'm glad that tickled your Spidey Senses and I'm certainly glad you did not post anything like that. I was just looking for an error code or for the exact verbiage of the error message.  Sorry for the confusion.)

I tried logging in via teams.microsoft.com but that doesn't seem to work either. I wonder if that narrows down the problem? The login and Authenticator seem to be working.

Your membership of Teams is related to your Computer.

Is your membership, if that is the right word, Private or Commercial?

Are you trying to use Teams between third party computers?

AADSTS7000112 means Teams is disabled, either for your whole tenant or you specifically. Check with your IT to make sure Teams is enabled for you and/or the organization.
