Hi, I hope this is allowed. I am not necessarily asking for vendor recommendation but just wanted to get general insight as a newbie desktop support person. A while back our company was sold on services from Ninja One, which is priced per computer and the cost has gone up as our office has grown (40 workstations). Our org structure: we're a franchise of a larger branch, but for onsite network and devices it's entirely up to me to support. We have a local wifi network with 40 laptops and I troubleshoot the network and basic user issues on the devices.
I'm sure I can find another remote management software that is cheaper than Ninja One, but I'm not sure if it's recommended at all or if we're just throwing our money away. I certainly am not capable of managing patches/updates etc., definitely not on that many systems, although I was under the impression that Windows Update handles most of this anyway. But I see that some of the services also come with a ticketing system, which could be useful, but I wouldn't get it just for that.
TLDR; Do others recommend this for a single desktop support person managing 40-plus workstations?
