I hope I'm posting to the correct section here.

I've got an oddball situation I can't figure out and I've hit the OEM software forums but no help there so this is my last ditch effort.

I already had and used Rocksmith 2014 for practicing my guitar, later I added a Focusrite 2i2Gen3 to my computer and I think I may have accidentally installed something twice? I'm not sure if it was Focusrite's software or Ableton Live for music recording? On Windows 11 I don't see anywhere to check for 2x installs but I do know when I start to use Rocksmith 2014 I am getting the regular play and then another (sound only) play afterwards.

Hoping someone here can help me because I have no clue what to do to find or resolve this issue. Please help!

It sounds like you might be experiencing an issue with audio routing or conflicting audio drivers on your system. Having duplicate audio playback when using Rocksmith 2014 could be due to multiple audio devices being active simultaneously, causing the game to output sound through both your Focusrite interface and another source.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Check Audio Settings in Rocksmith 2014:

    • Open Rocksmith 2014.
    • Go to the game's options or settings menu.
    • Look for the audio settings section.
    • Make sure that the correct audio device (your Focusrite interface) is selected as the primary output device.
  2. Check System Sound Settings:

    • Right-click on the speaker icon in your Windows taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
    • Under the "Output" section, make sure that your Focusrite interface is selected as the default output device. Disable any other playback devices that you're not using.
  3. Check Focusrite Control Panel:

    • If Focusrite has its own control panel software, open it and make sure that your audio settings are properly configured.
    • Ensure that your Focusrite interface is set as the primary audio device.
  4. Disable Conflicting Audio Devices:

    • Go to the Windows Control Panel.
    • Navigate to "Hardware and Sound" > "Sound."
    • In the "Playback" tab, right-click on any unused or conflicting playback devices and select "Disable."
  5. Disable Exclusive Mode:

    • In Windows Sound settings, go to the "Playback" tab and select your Focusrite interface.
    • Click on "Properties."
    • Go to the "Advanced" tab and uncheck the option for "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."
  6. Check Audio Drivers:

    • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your Focusrite interface and any other audio devices you're using.
    • Check the device manager to see if there are any duplicate or conflicting audio drivers.
  7. Check Rocksmith Configurations:

    • If there's a specific Rocksmith configuration or profile that you're using, ensure that it's correctly set up to use the Focusrite interface for audio output.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you might need to further investigate whether there are any conflicts or issues with your audio drivers or settings. It could be worth reaching out to Focusrite's support or checking Rocksmith-specific forums for more targeted assistance.

Remember to create a backup or restore point before making major changes to your audio settings, just in case you need to revert any changes.
