I understand this type of memory is found on cheaper devices like tablets and laptops.

What are pro's and con's - is it reliable?

The con is that it is not upgradeable. it is soldered to the board. eMMC is not memory, it is the hard drive (storage).

Laptops that use it are very limited and slow.

Reliability? Just as reliable as any other SSD drive for the most part. When they do fail they fail hard with no affordable chance at data recovery.

Those devices are throwaway.

Thank you very much I suspected they weren't a good or reliable investment now I have it from someone who knowledge is better than my guess. Sorry to be so late in getting back to my question you have answered
