I am not any sort of expert on tablets but Galaxy has a good name and at the price it seems to offer a reasonable performance. Since it has a dual band wifi unit built in you should find surfing more rapid so long as you have a dual band router.
Also, according to the specs, it can play almost any music format you are likely to run into and, with storage expandable up to 512 GB, that is qquite a lot of music.

Can't compare what you're asking for, but perhaps few of my notes will tell you about it.
I use A10 for the past 3 years or so. It's a 2016 issue.
Android is 8.1.0 installed in March 2019. It's a second major upgrade, likely last (or so I've read someplace). Most likely we're dealing with an obsolete system.
Security patch level is March 1, 2019. None came since.
Storage is 16GB, of which about 10GB is used for a bunch of applications I got from the play store.
SD card can be 128GB or maybe more. Mine is 32GB and contains tons of music.
I use Sophos Security, free, and NoRoot firewall.
For web I use built-in Samsung Internet with AdBlockPlus. It is very convenient with its speed dial and many good settings. Opera browser (the chromium version) also works fine, though I use it less.
I have Musicolet, free, for playing music and MxPlayer, free, for videos since I prefer those to the google offering.
I have some 200 music folders on the SD card, each containing 3-10 compositions.
YouTube works fine. I don't do any social media. A10 has some applications that are probably convenient for social media - Hangouts maybe? A10 is not a phone, so text messaging is out.
I use it mostly at home behind a router. Infrequently elsewhere, where it works fine.
My primary use is email, web surfing, newspaper reading, reading forum posts like this.
The 10 inch screen is wonderful for all this.
I prefer typing on my Windows laptop, but the keyboard on the screen is fine, the letters are big, unlike on the mobile/cell phone.
I use MOKO cover (from Amazon) which folds into a convenient stand, horizontally, and has a place to keep a stylus so I can use that for pecking the keyboard or selecting stuff on the screen. One very convenient package.
If you have questions, or need more details, just ask. I'll try to watch this thread.
