Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question. I got my weekly screentime report this morning, and to my surprise I was told I had an average of 24 hours a day. I thought it was just a funny mistake until I checked into it. Apparently something called coindesk.com has been running on my phone for 24 hours a day? I probably visited the site in the past to check crypto prices, but I didnt have it open in any tabs and I dont have an app by that name. I closed every single tab in every browser and cleared all history and data. That seems to have stopped it. But what in the world was that about?

iPhone Screentime Weirdness

damn, i usually never check my screentime, but after this, i need to keep a tab on it. thanks though

I don’t either but the notification popped up and the 24 hours happened to catch my eye

If you were using Safari and did not close the tabs, have background app refresh On, things can still run.

So the weird thing is that the site in question was not open in any of my tabs on Safari, Chrome, or Brave. And background refresh is off.

Maybe Your screen brightness been set to Night Mode or eye protector Mode.

It's possible that CoinDesk.com was running in the background of your iPhone, which caused the Screen Time report to show an unusually high screen time average. This could happen if you had opened the site in a browser and it continued to run in the background even after you closed the browser.
Another possibility is that there was a glitch in the Screen Time feature itself that caused it to incorrectly attribute screen time to CoinDesk.com.
Clearing your browsing history and closing all tabs in every browser should have stopped the site from running in the background, but if the issue persists, you may want to consider restarting your iPhone or resetting the Screen Time feature.
In any case, it's always a good idea to periodically check your Screen Time reports and investigate any unusual activity to ensure that you are using your phone in a way that aligns with your goals and values.
