Hello, hello, I did a clean install of iPadOS 15.5 to an iPad Pro 11 (2021 - Wifi-only) using iTunes (downloaded from the Windows store) and a SHSH blob of iPadOS on a PC running Windows 11 (that had been clean installed a few hours earlier). The final part of flashing the firmware to the iPad failed once and took suspiciously long (frozen progress bar) the second time. The iPad works normally (with occasional app crashes) but battery drain significantly increased (still 1-month after the update, when indexing should be finished). Occasionally the iPad runs very hot, especially when out of Wifi range. A full reset did not resolve the problems. A random check of the analytics files revealed that the (Wifi-only) iPad claims to run iPhoneOS 15.5 (instead of iPadOS) and tries to access (a non existing) baseband processor (see attachment). WTF? Has anybody observed a similar “bug”? At first I was tempted to flash it immediately, but now I am kind of intrigued…

That is correct, iPad OS is based off of iOS, which is based off of Darwin.

It's highly unlikely that the iPad Pro 11 (2021) is running iPhoneOS instead of iPadOS. Apple no longer uses the term "iPhoneOS" since the release of iOS 4 in 2010, and all Apple mobile devices since then, including the iPad Pro 11 (2021), have been running iOS or iPadOS.

It's possible that there was an error during the installation process that resulted in some corrupted system files, leading to the symptoms you're experiencing. Additionally, using a SHSH blob to install an older version of iPadOS may have caused compatibility issues and instability.

I would recommend contacting Apple support or visiting an Apple store to diagnose and resolve the issue. They may be able to run diagnostics and perform a clean install of the latest version of iPadOS to fix any potential software issues.
