I have a problem with receiving Texts from the site called ID.ME.
I have successfully set up my ID.ME account with MFA but in doing so every time I was asked to receive a Verification Code I could only get it by Phone Call. Trying to get a Text message just hung. It, of course, is the same number for Text and Calls so it is not the problem of incorrect text number. This is the only time I have not been able to get a verification text from a site and all other texts come through with no problem.

In order to connect to the IRS, I must go through ID.ME and one point in the process I am asked to verify through text with no option for phone call.

I have tried searching the ID.ME help sites and have found no solution.

I am using a Galaxy Pixel 6 with Android 14 using the Google messaging app.

I know nothing about this.  That said to use a phone and especially Google messaging is not secure with your information being sold by them.

Do to the high risk of phone security could you not do this on another platform. ?

Did you follow all of this : https://help.id.me/hc/en-us/articles/360018113093-Setting-up-text-message-or-phone-call-multi-factor-authentication-MFA

If using a VPN it maybe the issue along with other settings you may have done to your phone yourself.

With luck someone will answer with more personal experience using this App.
