It's true that the Killer network driver KfeCo11X64.sys is referenced in the analyze -v triage analysis in the dump, but that's not the only third-party driver called in this dump. If you examine the raw call stack you'll find that nvlddmkm.sys is also referenced. This is the Nvidia graphics driver, the version you have is recent too...

BUT. And this is a big BUT, laptops often use customised versions of their graphics driver, for interoperability and power-saving reasons. It's not uncommon to find that generic graphics drivers from Nvidia (and from Intel for the iGPU), which do not contain these customisations, cause problems - even BSODs. The most recent Nvidia graphics driver on the support site for your MSI Titan GT77HX 13VI is dated 21st Feb 2024. The most recent version of the Intel iGPU driver is dated 31st May 2023.

It's important from a troubleshooting perspective that you roll back to these two drivers, because we know they are fully compatible with your laptop(s). I would suggest you use DDU to fully uninstall the current Nvidia driver before installing the MSI version.

It would not surprise me in the least to find that this driver change solves your problems. In any event please let us know how this goes and please leave these MSI drivers installed untiol we have completed the troubleshooting.

Thanks Ubuysa. I have downgraded the drivers and I am waiting for the next BSOD.

I also found some people in another forum experiencing the same issues (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/a-serious-issue-when-doing-a-clean-install-with-windows-11-on-a-gt77.387337/page-3#post-2231787 post 52 page 3 gives explanations about the issues I had at the beginning in November-December 2023 but it seems resolved with insider previews).

However, they do not seem to have the ssd issues as I have.

For now, the laptop works as expected so I do not have any complain except an "event 129 iaStorVD: Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued" yesterday.

Pkshadow, listing the last 10 events will not be of interest because I have a lot of "event 131 Metadata package staging for device container {04D0B980-F240-11EE-8162-806E6F6E6963} failed with error 0x80070490." that are said to be benign, according to windows forum.

Are you seeing just the odd one or two of that Event 129 message, or are there floods of them?

If there are many of these messages the some obvious things you might want to review are...

  • Is there are firmware update for the SSD drives?
  • Is there an update for the Intel RST driver?
  • If the SSDs are M.2 drives then remove and reseat them.
  • If the SSDs are SATA drives then check the connectors - at both ends
  • This Microsoft Learn thread might be useful.

Thank you once again for your invaluable help.

In the past (November 2023), I was having frequent Event 129 messages. Now, the frequency has reduced to occasionally, less than once a week. I think the recent Windows updates have addressed the majority of these issues (ssd 100% active with 0 read/write, freezing of all softwares related to internet; finding this thread in the MSI forum helped me to clarify that it was the issue [hard to identify when multiple symptoms appear]).
Nevertheless, the few occurrences of Event 129 suggest that the problem might still exist, particularly since the laptop is note as smooth as it should be. Even if it performs well in all the high computation programs, I have intermittent system delays when working with windows desktop. For instance, there is a delay when clicking the start button and typing software names, or a when right-clicking an executable file before the context menu appears.

Regarding my SSD, it's a SAMSUNG MZVL22T0HBLB-00B00, with firmware version GXB7601Q and operates on the NVM Express 1.3 interface. A newer firmware version (GXB7801Q) is available, but I am unable to update due to the SSD being configured in RAID mode rather than AHCI, which prevents recognition by the Samsung updater software. Updating the firmware would require formatting, a step I'm hesitant to take without assurance that it would resolve the issue, despite my low enthusiasm for formatting as a potential solution :).

I've updated the RST driver as per your suggestion. I think the SSD is an M.2 type (I am not sure), are you suggesting to disconnect and reconnect it to the laptop ?

The ssd is 99 % good in crystaldiskinfo and there are no bad sectors found when checking the disk.

That SSD is an NVMe drive so yes, it uses an M.2 slot. If you feel confident then yes, remove the SSD (don't blow on the SSD or the M.2 socket with your mouth) and then reseat it again ensuring that it's properly seated. Note that if there is a heatsink on top of the SSD you'll need to replace the stick-on thermal pad as well.

Why are you running a RAID config on SSDs? RAID is a technology that was really designed for HDDs and depending on why you're using RAID there may be better ways of achieving similar results. In addition, it's not impossible that the RAID config is the root cause behind these 129 messages. I've never run a RAID config of any flavour so I'm out of my depth there.

I'm also a bit concerned at your 100% active time for the SSDs. I don't know whether this is an effect of RAID, it may be, but a 100% active time will lead to I/O queueing in Windows and that might account for the various delays you notice.

Unfortunately I did not choose to have a RAID mode. The laptop came this way.

This issue with the 100 % active time is frequent as per the number of threads we can find about it on internet (see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/100-disk-activity-time-with-no-read-or-write-with/fdcc7f00-ed20-4239-88dc-32b1dfc5ab9c for example).

That is the main problem I had in the other laptop.

For now, after following all your suggestions, the system looks stable, only this delay when I right clic some executables, or loading the task manager or using the startup menu is appearing but it might be standard ?

If had the issue on another laptop it is something you have installed.

Most often 100% is Malware. On 2 systems is rare.

Open a Topic in the Malware Removal Forum but not before doing this : https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

@ubuysa  Raid is being done at most Laptop dealers when have more than 1 drive for an unknown reason,  mine is Raid also.

Thanks Pkshadow, I have tested for malware and got nothing. And I think my issue is linked to the one reported in post #52 here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/a-serious-issue-when-doing-a-clean-install-with-windows-11-on-a-gt77.387337/post-2231787.

Especially I had a very interesting behavior today. Let me explain.

I put back onedrive to run at startup since I removed it previously because I noticed it was triggering those symptoms, believing it was solved with all the actions you guys suggested me to follow.

What we have done until now has reduced the symptom but there is still something and I am confident we are now narrowing it done.

Following the run of onedrive at startup, my internet browsers/outlook/discord and everything that connect to internet was freezing when launched and I got many event netwaw12 5002, 5005 and 5007.

5002:0000240001000000000000008A1300C00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000008400000006000000765601000000000100000000BC7F4C00BC7F4C00000000000AC24D00 : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly.

5005:0000040001000000000000008D1300C000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001000000 : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.

5007:The description for Event ID 5007 from source Netwaw12 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

I decided to check with the MSI center my drivers.

I noticed my wireless LAN driver was updated compared to the driver recommended by MSI which is a version from last year.

As a consequence, I uninstalled the LAN driver. After being uninstalled, the computer was reeeeaaaaallllly smooth (it was heaven), just like if this driver was giving headache to the laptop.

Then, I reinstalled the recommended version  from MSI.

During the installation, I got a BSOD for which the dump file is linked to this email. I do not understand this dump file and what is the faulty stuff.

Now the driver is reinstalled with MSI version and I will make some tests and let you know.

It does not seem as smooth as when the wireless driver was removed and I get some freezes sometimes but I want to try another restart before any conclusion.

Also I did a Cinebench R23 test to compare. I am surprised the score is around 25 000 while this of the tests we find online is around 32 000.

Is this the 1st Dump file you have had ?  Have you done the Sysnative Collation app ?  With out looking back a few pages ?

Ok well since this is still a version of windows that is not a final release as well it is too new of a laptop to be f ..... around with it.    You have been the demise of your laptop.

Simple put since you are running what you are Support IMHO should be withdrawn.   Thus I withdraw my support on this.
