Hans, try these in the order listed:

1) Even though it's invisible, directly above, and slightly to the left, is the "Continue" button. If you move your mouse pointer into that region, does the pointer change to a hand? If it does then click there. The second screen that opens may be complete and allow you finish.

2) I've searched for what launches SCOOBE (second out-of-box experience) but couldn't find anything. I'm guessing that it's either a scheduled task or a RunOnce entry.

In Autoruns, I'd like you to post two screenshots  - one for the "Logon" tab and the other for "Scheduled Tasks". Expand all the column widths as best you can to show as much detail as possible.

There is an article on How to Take a Screenshot on Windows 11.

There is also an article on Attaching Files to Posts On BleepingComputer.

Good luck! :)

I have attached the Logon and Tasks screen print. You said directly above and to the left - of what?

OK, I fixed the problem - my way. I took down a system copy from two weeks back and now everything is normal again. I will never know what the problem was.

OK, but make sure you deselect that Windows settings option I mentioned in my second post otherwise the same problem is likely to return.

There was nothing relevant shown in your Autoruns screenshots.

Glad to hear you resolved the issue, Hans Strahle! :)

However, I would recommend reading an article on Why you should not use Registry Cleaners and Optimization Tools.

Software such as IObit Advanced SystemCare, IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO SkipUac, IObit Driver Booster SkipUAC, KMSAutoNet, IObit Software Updater Scheduler, IObit Software Updater SkipUAC, and IObit Uninstaller SkipUac can cause various system instability issues.

As such, I would recommend uninstalling all of the software above with Revo Uninstaller.

Nonetheless, KMSAutoNet is malware, and I would recommend following the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide.

Good luck! :)

In addition to the previous reply, KMS Autonet is used to bypass legal license activation servers for MS Windows and Office applications.

As such, while BC is not here to enforce MS licensing rules per se, use of KMS Autonet violates forum rules:

OK, you were right, The problem has come back. After the recover I tidied up the system a bit, not doing anything special. My keyboard has become erratic, I have to press the same key a number of times before a letter appears. The hand that should show I haven't seen but the pane with choices comes up when I press the little man. In the taskbar there's an icon which belongs to this pane. Maybe you can  identify it.

FWIW, there is an article on 5 Ways to Open the Ease of Access Center on Windows.

Good luck! :)

OK,so now we know that this is Ease-Of-Access poping up at logon. I've searched for a way of disabling it but haven't found anything. Where does it come from?

Sorry, but unlike you, I still use Windows 10 but NOT Windows 11, so maybe some other member(s) who also use(s) Windows 11 and is/are more knowledgeable on that operating system edition might know more about this issue than me.

However, from my research online, it seems to be difficult or impossible to remove, and I do NOT know where it comes from either.

Good luck! :)

You possibly hit a combination of keys that started this.  In Win11 there is no Ease of Access.

Open Settings and type ;  Ease of Access  and use the Keyboard one   OR open Settings and just go to Accessibility

Turn Off most of what is there but you will need to review so do not turn off something you use.
