Hi, @biker1usa:

Thanks for the update.

I’m sure you might be frustrated, as we have not made much progress thus far.

Your lack of success running any of the standard, basic tools and utilities suggests that something might be seriously amiss with your system.

Alas, we are not permitted to run more specialized tools here in this particular forum sub-section.

I suggest that you please do this:

1.  Please read and follow as many of the instructions as you can HERE.

2. Then, please include the requested logs (if you have them) in a new post HERE.

One of the trained malware experts will guide you through a deeper analysis of your system, and will help with malware cleanup, if needed.

I am NOT saying that your problem is malware-related. It’s just that we cannot run the more powerful tools and scripts here in this forum section.

Once your malware helper gives you the all-clear, you can return to this thread for further help. (As per protocol, the Moderator Team will temporarily lock this thread while you work in the Malware Removal section.)

I hope this helps

no it has also told me that the path is typed incorrectly or missing and gives me an error message. I am probably going to toss this computer in the dumpster and go buy another one. But any help would be greatly appreciated.

But any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest that you proceed with the advice offered in REPLY #17

If it turns out to be a critical hardware failure, your helper will be able to let you know very soon. That may be the end of the ballgame, unless you have a local standalone computer shop in your town?

If it turns out to be malware, your helper will guide you through cleanup.

If it's something else (irrevocably corrupted OS, etc), then I'll defer to the more tech expert folks here to assist....

I hope you get it sorted, one way or the other

I personally think you should reinstall windows the tools needed to use may not run.

Your windows system is severely corrupted.

Do we know for sure that the hardware is OK, before going to all that trouble?

<just asking, to learn>

I do not know if hardware is ok. Each of the downloads I try to open are not found by my system.

Bring up an administrative command prompt and type in

chkdsk /r/f

Answer yes then reboot

Your hardware is good because it boots.

It tells me I do not have permission to perform this task. I need to be elevated to do this.

This is obvious, but with all due respect, and just for the record, I think there is supposed to be a space between the parameters, like this:

chkdsk /r /f
