Both computers should be set to the same IPs and subnet? And after this is done how do I access the program?

Not the same ip address different and it should connect just fine if there is a server running.

Please forgive me, I am not so computer "savvy". What do you mean by "if there is a server running."?

One machine is effectively "running in server mode" the other machine should be able to see it and connect.

How would I determine that one machine is effectively "running in server mode"?

Hi,

Is the old computer working? Check the environment variables on the old machine, maybe you can ID some related to the program that you have to define also on the new machine...

Run

ipconfig /all

So, I did as instructed but the node type shows "unknown"

I set IPs to 192.168.0.1 for the main computer (this is the one that has the ShopTrac program) and  192.168.0.2 for the other computer and the subnet to 255.255.255.0

I pinged both computers to check if a connection can be established. Result: Ping to 192.168.0.1 the main computer was successful but ping to 192.168.0.2, the other computer keep showing "time out"

Is there a way that I would be able to access the the main computer, this is the one that has the ShopTrac program from the other computer?
