I'm new but not new to Linux Mint...your computer specs are not good and Mint won't run on it...Mint is 64bit only now.

With up to 2GB of Ram, it doesn't look good...my 12 year old Laptop has 4GB of Ram and 64bit...it runs Mint Cinnamon 21.1 with no problems but I can't multitask.

Which Mint flavour are you trying to install...Cinnamon..Mate etc as Cinnamon requires at least 4GB of Ram. If you're going to burn the Mint ISO to a Flash Drive may I suggest Etcher it's never let me down. :thumbup2:

Thanks, for your response.

I had a copy of an older version of Linux Mint, and it ran just fine. When I found out it cannot be updated, I looked for and found the current 32 bit version here:

https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=308

However, the reason I thought I needed the 32 bit version is because I didn't think this machine has 64 bit capability, but I found out it does. I have installed 64 bit with no installation issues, and it works fine. Even though I don't need it now, the 32 bit version still should have installed. (?)
