Its called planned obsolescence, and Apple is very guilty of it.
Compared to Microsoft who until recently has supported hardware 10+ years old, Apple has always done this crap.
This means you spend $100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 on the same kind of hardware you can find in a friggin PC for a fraction of the cost but because it has a stupid fruit logo people buy it.
I have and will always hate apple, they make nothing but overpriced crap that will be obsolete in 5 years while I have 10+ old machines that run like new because not only do they use standard parts that are not soldered in or locked down to an OS that will be unsupported 7 years from now.
This is why I'm glad I'm a PC user as Linux as my main OS, no spending a fortune on hardware that will be unsupported in 5 years and no Microsoft to come out with another crappy OS everyone hates.
Yes, Linux has its own set of quirks, but at least I'm not spending a fortune on it.
