I use Xfinity and love them. I have my own modem which is 5G capable too. My monthly bill with cable and internet do not exceed no more than $66 per month and the wifi is fast.

Sincerely,

  Jesse

I do not know why people harp on Xfinity....their far better than CenturyLink or Spectrum Internet. I now have TV, Internet and my cell phone is on their network too. No issues to date!!!

Sincerely,

  Jesse

Like most services, the quality (or lack thereof) you receive depends on your location. My experience with large ISPs like Xfinity tends to be either amazing rock solid or complete garbage. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground.

Aside from the infrastructure (location) you also need to be lucky with their installer/maintenance crews. I have a colleague whose neighbor recently installed Xfinity and the installer disconnected his cable to hook up the neighbors. Whoops.

I bought a phone from them, but it's locked, and they refused to unlock it.

I completely agree that due diligence is needed here. I'm to busy at the moment to check, but if it hasn't yet been mentioned, if you got the hotspot route, get one with external antenna jacks. That way, if you get weak signal, you can always buy and connect higher gain antennas.

Has there been any mention yet of what signal strength the OP is seeing?
