Do people a favour, when they ask you to help with something on their system always correct [hide file extensions] for them and tell them to take a careful look at the full extension of any file they download before opening it.

I can't remember the last time I showed file extensions, nor know of anyone that does.

Wow!  I wouldn't even THINK of hiding file extensions.  For me it is very annoying not to see the whole file name.

The most dangerouse thing that people do online is talking to me and following my advice. I make friends with people then ask them how their BIOS is and then check if it needs updated then I insist that they update it and go on and on and on until they Flash their BIOS and so far not one of them has but am sure many have and just not recovered from it  so dissapered either that or blocked me.

The other thing is I ask people what OS they using and when they say anything othe than windows 10 I explode and accuse them of trying to infect me by being on a non win 10 pc and comunicating with me and stealing my IP

The last thing is possibly the most dangerouse and that is connecting to people using himachine on a non windos 10 PC those guys THOSE GUYS need to be told to upgrade caue and flash their bios first.

Just people who dont update and use win 10 that I despice with every ounce of my being.

It must help my being mildly autistic, but last time BT asked me to change my Password I had to cycle through 8 of the 15, or so, possibilities. When I get to the end of that System, shall I add Tyre size or Engine capacity

I am not going through all 13 pages again, however, I remember this:

-- 700K of some million users of BigBasket[?] used "password" in their respective language or in English

-- one government agency found all employees in one large office used the same password

-- taping password[s] onto desk or monitor

#5 It's quite ironic since a Netflix Film called "Sex Education" talks about porn as if it's not taboo. Hmm....

Back in the early days of DOS 6.22, Windows 3.1 - Windows for Workgroups 3.11, somebody installed X-Tree Gold "on top of Windows"  -- a complete reinstall was needed.

For us old timers - X-Tree Gold and PC-Tools both were powerful TSR/TerminateAndStayResident DOS-only-based.  They worked great in those days!

ld thread but I had to comment, use some common sense and surfing can be safe. I don't practice safe surfing but I haven't had a virus in years.
1) Ensure all your software (and OS) is patched, auto-updates haven't broken by system for a while.
2) Be aware of what's an application and what isn't, mybody.jpeg.exe is probably not good.
3) Run an anti-virus (not Norton)
4) Be aware if your computer is running slow it's probably your anti-virus (Norton)
5) Think twice before installing crap.
