Hi!
Interested in the topic under discussion, decided to check you out, and I'm glad I did. I am also interested in EaseUs, I will test it.

Did you inadvertently reply to the wrong topic?

This thread discusses FastStone image viewer, not EaseUs backup software.

Respectfully submitted

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've been using the Faststone long time, as basic soft for images view and light editing (freeversion pre-installed with Wind). It's really good. But I ddin't know that it has also an option for sreen video recording. Did you try it?

Asking, because now I'm looking for an afordable tool for an educational video production. I need to capture video screen+webcam and get recorded both system sound and from mic. I can' get clear if the Faststone does recording of the system sound also or mic/speakers only? Perchance, you tried and know it?  Can't find an affordable tool for recording system sound without session time limits. I'd really appreciate your comment and would be happy if Faststone can do it.

This is one of the things I love about Linux. So many utilities are either included, OOTB, as part of a distro's infrastructure, or are supported directly via built-in kernel modules.

One of our veteran members in the Puppy Linux community wrote his own screen capture/recording utility - largely making use of built-in binaries/libraries, and making use of a 'statically'-compiled build of ffmpeg from a guy named John van Sickle:-

https://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/

It even has the ability to include on-screen output from your webcam if required. The 'static' ffmpeg build largely accounts for 95%+ of the app size of just under 13 MB; the rest is basically just a bunch of scripts. End result? A totally free application that will do everything most people could ever ask of this type of software. I took the app as published, and turned it into a self-contained 'portable' app that you can run from a flash drive, in very much the same way as the Windows PortableApps work....

Personally, I've written a utility - based around mPlayer - that'll let anyone with a bunch of 'spare' USB webcams turn them into a basic, multi-view home security system - followed-up by a more sophisticated version of the same app (making use of the ever-amazing ffmpeg) sporting easier to follow GUIs & additional features to make it easier to use. If you've got the enthusiasm - and the patience to learn Bash scripting (very easy to learn) - the sky's the limit with Linux. Many of us on this side of the fence will write stuff initially for personal use - I'm no different - and if it works out as hoped-for, I'm more than happy to 'share' with the Puppy community.

Mike.
