I could create 500+ bookmarks but it seems like it would be really hard to navigate that.

FWIW:  I run Win 7...current version of Firefox for Win 7 is 115.6.0esr.

As for restoration of browser settings...IMO, it's best to back up the entire system, rather than just Firefox data.  I suggest Macrium Reflect 8.0.7783.

A similar situation can arise if you activate the system built-in Administrator account and leave it activated.  In such case, you would be given 2 different desktops to boot into and trial-and-error will boot into the user Admin install.

You can create folders with categories to organize them.

Any browser including Firefox is the biggest user of your installed RAM.

This 10 tabs on my system right now

Yeah that's actually not a bad idea. I literally don't do much on computers (work, browsing, streaming, etc.) but I have so many damn tabs open that I feel like I need some super high end PC just to have enough RAM. I think my new year's resolution is to replace that dinosaur computer and organize the tabs into bookmarks (actually going through the tabs and closing the ones I'll never actually use is probably a non-starter)

First:

What version of Firefox are you running?
It is important to use the latest version compatible with Windows 7, for security & safety.
(As mentioned several times, the latest version to support Windows 7 is 115 ESR, specifically 115.6.0: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/115.6.0/releasenotes/)

Next:

As mentioned, bookmarks are the way to go (not 500 tabs in a browser session on a computer you cannot shut down without losing them). :-)
There are many help articles at Mozilla.org (& elsewhere) about how to create, sort, organize, backup & restore bookmarks. A few notable examples:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/bookmarks-firefox

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/bookmark-folders-organize-your-bookmarks

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sort-bookmarks-quickly-find-ones-you-want

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

Cheers

Corrected typo
